Mile-er Privacy Policy

Mile-er is an internal utility app developed by Brightray Technologies LLC that helps staff compare the distance of a work trip against their normal commute, for mileage reimbursement purposes. This page describes what information Mile-er collects, how it is used, and how it is handled.

Information We Collect

Mile-er collects and stores the following information, entered directly by you:

• Your home address
• Your primary work address
• Addresses you enter as "Today's Destination," including any you choose to save or that are automatically kept in a short recent-use list

Mile-er does not use GPS or any device location services. All addresses are entered manually by you.

How Your Information Is Used

The addresses you enter are used solely to calculate driving distances, via Google's Places API and Routes API, so the app can compare a trip's distance against your normal commute. This calculation happens each time you enter or select a destination.

Where Your Information Is Stored

Your home address, work address, and saved/recent destinations are stored locally on your device. This data is not stored on any Brightray Technologies server, and is not accessible to Brightray Technologies beyond what is described below.

Third-Party Services

To calculate distances, the addresses you enter are sent to Google's Places API and Routes API (part of Google Maps Platform) for geocoding and distance calculation. This is the only third party your address data is shared with, and it is shared only for this purpose. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Mile-er does not include any advertising SDK and does not use analytics services beyond what is strictly necessary for the app to function.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party other than Google, as described above, for the sole purpose of calculating distances.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your home address, work address, and saved/recent destinations remain on your device until you clear them within the app or uninstall the app. Clearing an address field or uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.

Children's Privacy

Mile-er is an internal workplace tool and is not directed at or intended for use by children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
